Opportunities: The San Francisco Parks and Recreation has several options for community gardening.
1) Individual plots: include regularly scheduled workdays, annual dues that cover garden tools and equipment. There may be a wait list for these plots.
2) Communal gardens: shared garden experience and harvesting system. Includes drop-in workdays to complete planting, weeding, watering, harvesting. Harvest shared among participating individuals. No wait list.
3) Educational gardens: unique programming for youth, run by non-profit partners
4) Volunteer and community service: Companies interested in volunteer opportunities or other organizations providing community service can find placement.
